Mission Statement

The mission of the Truckee Tahoe Air Show & Family Festival (TTAS&FF) is to provide a free interactive, educational and fun-filled family-oriented aviation event for the Truckee North Tahoe region, with all proceeds going to local youth organizations, programs and scholarships.

About the Show

It took a passion for aviation, educating children about aviation, and for the Truckee North Tahoe Community to bring a relatively small group of volunteers and sponsors together on July 7, 2012, to produce, after a 16-year hiatus, the Truckee Tahoe AirFair & Family Festival. Now the event is a full-blown air show with world-renowned performers and speakers. The event features a family festival filled with kids’ activities and musical/puppet show performances. Vendors line the ramp along with airplane static displays and docents.

In 2016 the show featured an interactive STEM Expo. Due to its huge success, Suddenlink for 2017 is the sponsor of the new STEAM Expo. We’ve added the “A” for the arts! . Exhibitors educate attendees on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

Raising Money for Local Youth

The Truckee Tahoe Airport District has, for the past 5 years generously offered nonprofit organizations a unique and creative way to raise money for local youth. The Airport District funds all the operational costs for the TTAS&FF, while EAA Chapter 1073, Truckee Optimist Club, and the KidZone Museum produce the event and incorporate creative ways to raise money to give back to Truckee North Tahoe youth.  Sponsorship efforts and grant submissions are the main means by which these non-profits raise money.

ALL proceeds from sponsorships, vendor costs, VIP Hospitality Tent  ticket sales, and much more, go directly to local youth.

Sponsorships/grant money does not fund the operational costs for the AirShow & Family Festival.

The 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 events combined raised over $210,000 through sponsorship, grants, vendor space sales, food vendors, pre-event dinners, VIP tent passes, auction, t-shirt sales and miscellaneous items. Our goal for 2017 is to raise over $50,000. Please join us in helping give back to our local youth.
