MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Truckee Tahoe Air Show & Family Festival is to provide a free interactive, educational, and fun-filled, family-oriented aviation event for the Truckee North Tahoe region, with all proceeds going to local youth organizations, programs, and scholarships.
ABOUT THE SHOW
It took a passion for aviation, educating children about aviation, and for the Truckee North Tahoe Community to bring a relatively small group of volunteers and sponsors together on July 7, 2012, to produce, after a 16-year hiatus, the Truckee Tahoe AirFair & Family Festival. Now the event is a full-blown air show with world-renowned performers and speakers. The event features a family festival filled with kids’ activities and musical/puppet show performances. Vendors line the ramp along with airplane static displays and docents.
ABOUT RAISING MONEY FOR LOCAL YOUTH
For the past 10 years The Truckee Tahoe Airport District has generously offered local nonprofit organizations a creative way to raise money for local youth. The District funds operational costs for the Air Show & Family Festival, and hundreds of volunteers from the EAA Chapter 1073, Truckee Optimist Club, and KidZone Museum produce the event while raising money through sponsorships, vendor booth sales, VIP Hospitality Tent ticket sales and the sale of miscellaneous items.
Since 2012, (with the exception of 2020 and 2021) The Truckee Tahoe Airport District has generously offered local nonprofit organizations a creative way to raise money for local youth. The District funds most all the operational costs for the Air Show & Family Festival, and hundreds of volunteers from the EAA Chapter 1073, Truckee Optimist Club, and KidZone Museum produce the event while raising money through sponsorships, vendor booth sales, VIP Hospitality Tent ticket sales and the sale of miscellaneous items.
Since 2012, over $390,000 has been raised for local youth. Our goal for 2023 is to raise over $60,000. Please join us in helping give back to our local youth and become a sponsor. Click here to learn more.
