Thanks to Truckee’s Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 1073 volunteers, children can experience a life altering event – flying!

Children ages 8-17 must have a parent/guardian sign them up at the EAA building at the airport on Saturday, September 11, for a flight to take place the next day, Sunday, September 12 (depending on COVID-19 guidelines).

Each new Young Eagle receives a logbook with his/her flight entered into it along with a Young Eagle certificate, as these youngsters are proudly displaying after their ride! (See images below.)

Last year, EAA Chapter 1073 pilots gave free airplane rides to over 100 kids the day after the 2017 air show, and they have graciously offered to keep this tradition alive for 2021!

Flights are given free of charge and are made possible through the generosity of EAA Chapter volunteers. EAA Chapter 1073 pilots have flown over 3,300 Young Eagles since the program started.
